The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology, at the University of Virginia and University of Virginia Children's Hospital, seeks candidates for a tenure-ineligible Neonatologist position. This opportunity is designed for physicians with an interest in a balanced career of clinical care and teaching. Applicants should be interested in advancing their academic career by joining a diverse and highly accomplished faculty. Salary and rank are dependent upon qualifications. (An interest in transport medicine and quality improvement initiatives relative to resuscitation and simulation teaching is desirable.) 
Candidates must have an MD and be board-eligible or board-certified in Neonatology. Candidates must have a commitment to clinical excellence and teaching, and a strong interest in a career in academic medicine.
The University of Virginia Children's Hospital is located in Charlottesville, a setting with natural beauty and significant historical relevance in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Department of Pediatrics is extremely collegial and collaborative.
The Division of Neonatology is currently comprised of eight full time board certified/eligible neonatologists. We have a fully accredited neonatal-perinatal fellowship program with six trainees and a full-time research nurse. Our clinical service presently comprises a 45 bed NICU (expanding to 51), a follow-up clinic and an active antenatal consultation service. 15 neonatal nurse practitioners and a nursing staff of over 120 individuals assist in patient care alongside our well respected pediatric residency trainees. We will be implementing a telemedicine program to complement our neonatal transport network. The Division has outstanding collaborative working relationships with our general pediatricians as well as other pediatric subspecialists, our surgical colleagues and our colleagues in adult medicine, especially from the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
