Cancer Center Clinical Research Coordinator, Licensed - University of Virginia, School of Medicine - VA

Description
Opportunities for cancer patients to enroll in clinical trials within the Cancer Center are increasing. In order to meet the needs of our patients, the Cancer Center's Office of Clinical Research (CC OCR) is looking for a Clinical Research Coordinator, Licensed (CRC Licensed) to assist with the coordination and management of clinical trials in cancer. This position may serve as a CRC for various oncology study teams; however, it is anticipated that the first assignment will be with the Hematology Oncology Division in the Department of Medicine.
The incumbent performs a full range of clinical research duties and must have a working knowledge of the clinical research process and the regulations that govern it. As a Registered Nurse, the employee performs patient-related care independently, including physical assessments, symptom management, and referrals within the scope of their license. The incumbent performs progressively more complex and comprehensive clinical research duties at an ever-increasing level of independence, working closely with the Principal Investigator in determining when to adapt methods and procedures to meet the needs of the clinical trial. The employee focuses on the long term goals of each clinical research trial and process and may supervise some staff.
An Associate's degree or higher, current license as Registered Nurse in State of Virginia, and at least two years of clinical experience are required.
A Bachelor's in Nursing, four or more years of clinical research experience, including administration of investigational agents, coordination of multiple, complex clinical trials, and human subject protection training are preferred.
