The Cancer Center Office of Clinical Research (CC OCR) is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Licensed Clinical Research Coordinator to support clinical research trials in the developing Multi-disease/Phase I program. 
The incumbent will perform a full range of oncology clinical research duties and must have a solid knowledge of oncology, the clinical research process and the regulations that govern it. As a Registered Nurse, the Multi-Disease/Phase I Program Clinical Research Coordinator will perform patient-related care independently; identify patients for studies; determine eligibility in partnership with principal investigators; evaluate and assess patients for symptoms and refer to physicians or nurse practitioners as needed; create treatment plans; and ensure patients are scheduled and seen per study protocol.
The incumbent is responsible for independently conducting clinical trials ensuring the highest quality; ensuring all regulatory requirements are met; and managing all aspects of the studies. The Multi-Disease/Phase I Program Clinical Research Coordinator will work independently and have the authority to adapt methods and procedures to meet the needs of the clinical trial.
Based on the experience and education of the applicants, candidates may be considered for an Intermediate or a Senior position.
Applicants who qualify for the Licensed Clinical Research Intermediate level must have a current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Virginia by appointment start date, have a Bachelor's degree, and four years of experience in oncology, including administration of investigational agents, coordination of multiple, complex clinical trials, and human subject protection training. A CCRC or CCRA certification is preferred.
Applicants who qualify for the Licensed Clinical Research Senior level must have a current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Virginia by appointment start date, have a Bachelor's degree, and a minimum six years of experience in oncology, including administration of investigational agents, coordination of multiple, complex clinical trials, and human subject protection training. Senior CRC must have a CCRC or CCRA certification. However, a Master's degree in a related field and related work experience may substitute for the certification at the time of hire, and must be certified within one year of certification eligibility.
