General Description:
The Disability Support Services Exam Proctor will proctor exams for Disability Support Services students on the Baltimore and DC campuses. as needed.
Schedule: Varies. Monday – Friday, day and evening hours and occasional weekend days possible. Baltimore and Washington, DC, hours available as needed.
Exams held every 4 weeks during Carey terms.
Major Responsibilities
- Procter a variety of tests while maintaining secure testing environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all testing materials.
- Ensure that all examination room arrangements are in accordance to the specification provided.
- Ensure that testing policies and protocols are followed throughout the testing process
- Maintain security of student information
- Greet students and verify personal information by checking identifications.
- Provide students with test instructions, exam timings and pass out test materials
- Ensure that candidate do not possess any materials that are in violation of test protocols
- Ensure that testing policies and protocols are followed
- Maintain security of student information
- Inform students of time of time restrictions and provide them with periodic time warnings
- Instruct candidates to stop writing and ensure that each candidate complies to halt orders
- Contact instructors when necessary when students have questions.
- General office tasks to include report writing, and email communications
- Make sure that all students are seated a certain distance away from each other
- Assist in the distribution and collection of test materials
- Report suspected irregularities
- Fill out appropriate paperwork for various exams
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
At minimum high school graduate. Two years office, clerical experience required. Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Special Knowledge and Skill- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service related experience required, such as education or administrative support
- Customer Service orientation-be able to communicate effectively and courteously to students who are under high stress.
- RMust be reliable, punctual, flexible Available during day and evening hours as required
- Possess strong organizational skills and use good judgment.
- Be detail-oriented and able to follow instructions without error.
- Effective problem solving, analytical thinking, resolution skillss.
- Be able to give assistance to students with minimal interruption.
- Be able to stay focused during long periods of silence without distracting students.
- Able to facilitate problem resolution, foster confidence and trust.
