Accommodations and Disability Manager - Raytheon - Billerica, MA

There is an exciting opportunity at Raytheon Corporate working with the Global Business Services Group, Human Resources for a Manager of the Global Absence Management team. This person will assist in leading the accommodations program and in providing vendor oversight and management to Raytheon's short term and long term disability programs.
This position requires a leader who can effectively work across multiple functional areas while also having a working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAAA). This position further requires an experienced manager who can provide technical expertise and tactical direction to Raytheon business organizations while also coordinating with the disability insurance carrier.
The successful candidate will be a service oriented professional with strong written and oral skills along with a working knowledge of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) regulations pertaining to disability plans. He/She will also be familiar with industry best practices and possess strong analytical skills to drive process improvement and successful return to work outcomes.
This role will also manage the unemployment program to effectuate savings when employees separate from Raytheon for a variety of reasons and to work with our vendor to ensure the appropriate adjudication and delivery of unemployment benefits.
This position requires an excellent communicator who is comfortable in a dynamic multitasking environment and who can make decisions relative to liability/compensability, working with vendor teams, and working with outside counsel. This role also involves significant cross-functional dialogue with managers/supervisors at various levels, safety professionals, medical staff and risk management.
The successful candidate must also be a team player and will be expected to participate in various projects on an ongoing basis.
Required Skills:
  • 6+ years experience in handling non-occupational claims
    • Supervisory experience
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills
    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Ability to multi-task and work independently

      Desired Skills:

    • Experience working with the ADAAA
    • ERISA training
    • Demonstrated expertise in computer skills - Word, Excel, Powerpoint

      Required Education (including Major):

    • BS/BA

      Professional designations preferred (ARM, AIC, etc)
