Job Summary:

The Assistant/Associate Professor-NP primarily mentors graduate students and supervises them in the clinical setting as a preceptor. There is potential for teaching students in the Graduate Nursing level courses in the area of Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. The Assistant Professor-NP precepts with a multidisciplinary healthcare team utilizing expertise in the delivery of whole person care practices within the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice. Performs other duties as needed. Faculty rank is dependent on qualifications, including university teaching experience and the depth of an active scholarly agenda. The position is currently grant funded for three years, with the possibility of ongoing appointment.
Job Specifications:
Ability to speak clearly in person and over the phone; ability to write clearly and concisely; ability to listen well and interact appropriately with other employees and outside agencies; ability to input data into computer; good eye-hand coordination. Excellent verbal and written skills in English. Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills. Cooperates harmoniously with other and shares information in a timely and appropriate manner. Demonstrates the ability to respond positively and quickly to changing circumstances. Acts decisively and takes effective action. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner. Ability to teach and apply knowledge to various instruction situations. DNP/PhD degree required. Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse required. California RN and NP license required or eligible. National Certification as FNP/AGNP required. Member of the Seventh-day Adventist church, in good standing, preferred.
