Tristar Nurse Residency Program (TNRP)
Tristar Health is committed to the development and training of the caregivers of the future. Making the transition from student to professional nurse requires gaining additional knowledge and expertise in clinical skills, critical thinking and professional role assimilation. How you begin your nursing career is an important decision for you and for the safety of your patients.
The Tristar Nurse Residency is a comprehensive program for new graduate nurses with less than six months of experience. The formalized, competitive residency program is comprised of:
- Education and Curriculum
- Guided Clinical with Preceptor
- Support (Mentoring and Debriefing)
- Measurement and Evaluation
Medical-Surgical Services at TriStar Centennial:
- Thirty-three(33) bed Medical/Medical Behavioral Health Unit devoted to caring for patients suffering from stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure and behavioral health patients suffering from medical ailments
- Thirty-three(33) bed Surgical Unit devoted to caring for post operative patients including General Surgery, Vascular, Bariatric, GI/GU, Urology and Kidney Transplant
- Twenty(20) bed Clinical Decision Unit (a 23-hour Observation Unit), devoted to providing the opportunity for further treatment and evaluation.
Qualifications:
Requirements at Time of Application:
- Eligible for graduation from a NLN-AC or CCNE Accredited Nursing Program with an Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing prior to employment.
- Personal Letter of Intent that includes:
* Vision
* Goals with a 5-year plan
* Why did you choose Nursing?
* Why are you interested in the TriStar Division Nurse Residency Program?
- Two (2) letters of reference: 1 from a clinical faculty member and 1 from current manager OR 2 clinical faculty members if not working.
- Transcript demonstrating a minimum cumulative GPA = 3.0
Education and Licensure Requirements at Time of Hire:
- Associate degree in Nursing Required Required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) AHA Required
- Current State license as a Registered Nurse Required
