Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks to hire a cancer prevention and control faculty member with a demonstrated academic track record of publications and grant funding. We are particularly interested researchers in cancer survivorship, cancer outcomes, and cancer-related disparities, but will consider qualified applicants with strong research programs in other areas. Researchers from all population science disciplines are encouraged to apply (e.g., epidemiology, behavioral science, health services, and clinical research).
The CPC Program includes 35 faculty members conducting research across the cancer control spectrum, including quality of life during and after cancer treatment, cancer-related health disparities, genetic counseling and testing, health outcomes, tobacco use, cancer screening, and cancer biomarker development. There are numerous opportunities for collaboration with faculty throughout Georgetown University, including the School of Medicine, The O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law, the McCourt School of Public Policy, and the School of Nursing and Health Studies.
Additional resources include access to one of the largest regional consortia of cancer treatment providers and patients in the U.S., spanning DC, Maryland, and New Jersey. Shared resources include biostatistics and bioinformatics, participant recruitment, clinical research management, genetics/genomics, and numerous other biomedical resources.
Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in Washington, DC. Working in Washington DC provides access to additional opportunities for collaborations with NIH faculty, policy makers on Capitol Hill, and faculty at numerous local universities.
CPC faculty hold an appointment in the Department of Oncology at Georgetown University School of Medicine. This is a tenure track appointment with leadership opportunities for the qualified candidate. The position includes a generous start-up package with recruitment of additional faculty.
