Tenure-Track Teaching Position
POSITION: The Augustana University Nursing Department invites applications for tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor. A doctoral degree is required and the PhD in nursing or a DNP in a clinical specialty. If the doctoral degree is in a related field, the applicant must have a graduate degree in a nursing clinical specialty. Expertise in adult/gero and/or child health desired. Expertise in genetics and genomics a plus.
DUTIES: Successful applicants will demonstrate strong commitment to teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment and may have opportunity to shape a new graduate program. Teaching responsibilities in didactic, clinical, and simulation laboratory required. Courses to be taught are dependent on specialization and interests of the successful applicant.
Augustana’s progressive undergraduate nursing program is recognized for the excellence of its graduates and for its experienced, creative, and engaging faculty. The Department of Nursing has both a traditional baccalaureate program and an accelerated curriculum for students with BA/BS degrees. Planning for graduate education and a genetic nursing certificate are also in the planning process. Opportunities exist for international study and exchange opportunities for students and faculty. The Nursing Department celebrates 75 years of excellence in nursing education. The nursing program has had a first-time NCLEX pass rate of 95-100% for several years.
