Asst/Assoc Professor - Lindenwood University - Saint Charles, MO
Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor – Athletic Training
Department: Athletic Training
This nine-month faculty position will include teaching four courses per semester each year, primarily in the athletic training core curriculum. The successful candidate will teach science courses in the areas of emergency care, rehabilitation, therapeutic modalities, pharmacology, and research. The individual will also play an integral role in the Athletic Training Program’s transition to a post-professional degree program, and he/she will be expected to assist the program director in the administration and assessment of the Athletic Training Program. Additional academic duties will include advising students, providing service to the university, contributing service to the profession and community, and being active in professional development and scholarship. Lastly, involvement in student recruitment and retention, student research, and departmental and university service is expected.

Faculty are expected to prepare a complete, thorough, accurate, and up-to-date syllabus file.

Faculty are expected to utilize Canvas, the university’s learning management system.

Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.) |

A doctoral degree in sports medicine, kinesiology, physiology, or related discipline

Certification in good standing with the Board of Certification for athletic training
-
Five years or more of professional experience in athletic training
-
Established record of successful collegiate teaching in a health science discipline

History of service within the athletic training profession
-
Previous experience in a CAATE-accredited program
-
Evidence of ability to conduct and produce scholarly research in area of expertise

Knowledge of athletic-training education competencies and curriculum design

Knowledge and training in advanced therapeutic techniques
