Qualifications:
Under the supervision of the Unit Director and/or Nursing Supervisor, coordinates & supervises the patient care
team on an assigned unit. The Charge Nurse (CN) is responsible for: daily operation of the unit (s), supervision
& assignment of all patient care team members. The CN assesses the overall needs of the unit related to patient
acuity & staffing and coordinates with the unit director & nursing supervisor. The CN collaborates with the
Nursing Supervisor & Unit director for participation in quality improvement, assists with the assessment of
educational opportunities, and provides hands-on patient care coaching. The CN is responsible to meet all, but
not to perform on a daily basis, job duties as outlined in their respective unit Registered Nurse job description,
when required by patient or unit needs, as well as those listed in this job description.
Experience: 3 years as a Registered Nurse, minimum of 1 year experience as a Staff Nurse in related area.
3 years experience as a staff nurse preferred.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, current license in GA. Completion of or actively pursuing
BSN degree preferred.
Special Qualifications: Clinical Mastery in current Nursing field as evidenced by performance evaluations;
demonstrates exceptional communication & organizational skills. Demonstrates a commitment to Fairview Park

profession of nursing as evidenced by professional appearance and communication, seeks advanced learning
opportunities, and promotes evidence based practice. Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with team
members including students/faculty, new employees, unit director/clinical coordinator & nursing supervisor.
Employees Supervised: Staff RN, LPN, PCA, Unit Clerk, Nurse Tech, Nusring students
