- POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) functions within a service-line educational team across the entities of HonorHealth, providing staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leader and researcher. Each CNE supports the development of the bedside nurse clinician, and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced based nursing practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development. In addition, as a role model of professional behavior, the CNE is instrumental in creating a professional nursing climate within HonorHealth to meet the global needs of the network. The CNE advocates for nursing practice that is theory based and evidenced based, utilizing a Shared Governance model for decision-making. Travel may be required to facilitate collaboration with entities across HonorHealth. The CNE is a salaried position, reporting directly to the Network Director of Nursing Education, is not included in the unit budget and while the educator may assist bedside clinicians, is not responsible for a patient assignment.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Master's degree in Education or Nursing OR currently enrolled in final year of MSN or M Ed Program
EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in an acute care setting as a direct care RN or as clinical faculty in an accredited graduate or post-graduate nursing program or equivalent
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Arizona. Current BLS, PALS and or ACLS and will become certified as an instructor
